Education UK - the Council's web site for international students - now has a searchable database of scholarships and awards.

Scholarship search now has quite a number of postgraduate awards listed. There are still very few full scholarships for undergraduate study, but the number of smaller awards is increasing.
Bursaries for TV and radio journalists:

1) Alva Clarke Memorial Fellowship

1) This fellowship is for journalists from the Caribbean for three month's study as part of Reuters Foundation Programme at Green College, Oxford.

2) University Fellowships are offered annually to journalists from developing countries.

Novartis Foundation Symposium Bursaries
The Novartis Foundation awards bursaries for young people to attend its international scientific symposia and work for up to three months with a member of that symposium. Details from the Novartis Foundation web site at, or e-mail
United Kingdom Telecommunications Agency (UKTA) Awards
The UKTA provides sponsored training for applicants from countries developing their communications environment. Free access is provided to the knowledge and experience of the UK telecommunications industry. Visit for more details, courses offered, and application forms. Wellcome Trust Masters Awards and Research Fellowships

(for research in Demography, Population or Reproductive Health)

You must be nominated by the centre where you wish to train, and by your employer, which should be a government, or university dept, or NGO with remit to implement programmes in population and reproductive health.

Royal Academy of Engineering:

International travel grants for UK-permanent-resident engineering researchers
The Royal Academy of Engineering offers annually 500 travel grants for engineering researchers who are UK permanent residents. This is to enable them to attend conferences or make visits to academic or industrial research centres oversea. For more information contact:
