This EU Socrates Programme supports innovation in Open and Distance Learning (ODL) and the use of Information and Communications Technology (ICT) in education. Projects supported under Minerva may aim to produce new learning approaches and tools or to survey and analyse particular aspects of the role of ODL and ICT in education.

Its main aims are to promote understanding of the role of ODL and ICT in education; to ensure a balance between pedagogical and technological input in the development and use of ICT-based tools; and to open up access to ODL and ICT to learners of all ages, levels and abilities across Europe.

Further information is available on the Socrates web site.

Contact details are also on the Socrates web site.

There is also a range of case studies available.
