Peacekeeping English - mission
The Peacekeeping English Project (PEP) is managed by the British Council on behalf of the Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) and the United Kingdom Ministry of Defence (MOD).

The Project's mission is to promote the development of a sustainable system for English Language Training for military and other security forces, to enable better regional communication, as preparation for other training, and to enable a greater Central and Eastern European contribution to regional and multinational Peace Support Operations, security operations and humanitarian/disaster relief activities.

The projects contribute significantly to the FCO/MOD aims of promoting respect for civilian democratic government and practices, and to the British Council's objectives: to promote the learning of English and to enhance awareness of the UKs democratic values and processes, and work in partnership with other countries to strengthen good governance and human rights.
