Institutional membership
  The British Council in Eritrea offers membership and services to Government and Non-Government Institutions throughout the country.

Institutions in Asmara

Institutions in Asmara are entitled to borrow books as well as videos and audio cassettes for up to two weeks. Special loans of up to 40 volumes can be arranged for a negotiable period of time. Subject to availability, overhead projector, display screens, Dewey Decimal Classification Scheme and ‘British Books in Print’ may also be borrowed.

Annual Membership Fee is 300 Nakfa.

Institutions outside of Asmara

Institutions outside Asmara are entitled to borrow books, audio cassettes and documentary videos. Special loans of up to 40 volumes can be arranged for a negotiable period of time.

Annual Membership Fee is 250 Nakfa.

All interested institutions should apply by submitting a completed membership application form (available from the Library) with a letter from the organisation accepting full responsibility for the Library items borrowed.

A member of staff authorised by the institution can borrow Library items. Home videos are only available for loan on completing a special application form and paying the fee of 160 Nakfa. Daily fines on overdue items will be charged at 10 cents for books and 25 cents for audio-visual materials. Damaged or lost items will be charged at the cost of replacement.
