British Council Education and Training

The British Council, on behalf of sponsoring agencies, manages training services for short or long-term study in the UK and, in some cases, in a third country.

Each year, a significant number of students from Ethiopia get their training in British universities and colleges. Their sponsors are government and international bodies such as UNDP, World Bank, European Commission, etc.

Under the Client-Funded Training Scheme the British Council, through its extensive experience, contacts and services, can arrange training for any number of people in any subject and any level as long as an appropriate course is available in the UK and the applicants can secure the necessary funding for training and British Council management costs.

The following is a list of the services the British Council can provide to individual candidates or funding agencies.

  • Either advice and placement or confirmation of placement
  • International English Language Test and arrangement of English language tuition
  • Pre-departure arrangements
  • Travel arrangements
  • Arrival arrangements
  • Payments
  • Monitor progress
  • Medical insurance
  • Departure arrangements
  • Financial management and reporting
