  This is complementary to our work in gender within our governance programme. The British Council has been supporting the Ministry of Education to improve girl's enrolment and to reduce their poor performance and repeat and drop out rates in primary schools.

During the past two years, sixty trainers in four regions were trained in adult education skills, techniques for changing attitudes, and managing and monitoring gender performance. This group of trainers delivered training to education officials, head teachers, primary school teachers, parents and community leaders in their respective places.
