Access to Information

Forthcoming events

The impact of the Information Society and the progress of Information and Communications Technologies (ICTs) as tools to interact, to perform transactions and to access information are having an effect on our everyday life.

Our focus in governance and access to information is concerned with issues around social inclusion in the information society and the expoitation of ICTs in respect of information rights, freedom of information, citizen-government interaction, information for participation and issues around empowerment, diversity and equality.

We will be concerned with building the British Council information resource, establishing networks, raising awareness on UK initiatives at government and civil society level and providing opportunities for international dialogue and networking.
