Objective: The provision of a framework of events and meetings which shape global economic policy into which the Council's efforts in economics and finance will have to fit.
- Human Rights Week, India
Date: 1-14 March 1998
Description: State-level and National Seminars on Human Rights (Child Rights; penal Reform; Gender; Human Rights)
Participant: Key Indian Partners including the National Human Rights Commission, NGOs academics and donor agencies
Objective: Highlight HMG emphasis on Human Rights, share experience of Human Rights related research, promote the Council's facilitative role amongst donors
- Civil Society in British Governance
Description: One day workshop considering report from consultants (mobilising end October 1997)
Participant: UK civil society resource: selected international participants (BC sponsored) and FCO/DFID
Objective: Better BC profile and knowledge of UK Civil Society resource: more BC governance programmes in this area.
