Chevening/Royal College of Physicians scholarships in clinical medicine for Chinese doctors

Agreement has been reached for five scholarships to be offered in 1999 to Chinese doctors to visit the UK for one year to gain experience in aspects of internal medicine. These awards will be jointly funded by the Royal College of Physicians and Foreign and Commonwealth Office. The awards will be managed by the British Council.

The first two doctors have been selected and will commence their scholarships in October 2001.

The British Medical Bulletin

Started by the British Council in 1943 to promote British Medical Science abroad, the British Medical Bulletin has evolved from a stencilled list of abstracts to a distinguished publication.

It is now published for the British Council by Oxford University Press. Each issue is an authoritative review of a subject of topical importance. The BMB has a high citation index and is widely distributed around the world. It is available through annual subscription, single copies and electronic subscription. Selected developing country institutions receive free subscriptions and there is a reduced rate for others.

For information on issues from January 2001 onwards please refer to http://www.bmb.oupjournals.org.

For information on back numbers 1996-2000 please refer to http://www.roysocmed.ac.uk/pub/bmb.htm.
