In Northern Ireland, the accredited English Language teaching provision is supplied by our two universities - in the TEFL Centre at Queen's University Belfast and with Flex Language Services at the University of Ulster. We are planning an audit of all English Language Teaching provision in the near future.

In our own British Council Northern Ireland programme, a regular feature in recent years has been the annual visit of a group of English teachers in training from Magdeburg University in Germany for a two week study attachment in Belfast.  See 'Events' opposite.

We also administer the annual Modern Language Assistants' Programme in Northern Ireland, which involves Northern Ireland hosting well over a hundred young aspiring English language teachers from all over Europe and even further afield, in our schools during the course of an academic year.
