information centre houses an extensive collection of books with free access
for members. British newspapers are available along with a number of useful
and current periodicals and publications, encyclopedias, dictionaries,
atlases and handbooks. A selection of books on GCC countries is also available.
The information centre holds a large collection of publisher's catalogues,
bibliographies and information on the book trade. Information on all British
books in print is available on CD-ROM.
The British Council Library operates a lending service to anyone resident in Qatar who is a fully paid member. Corporate membership is also available. Library membership is valid for one calendar year. To register as a member you need two passport size photographs and a copy of your residence permit.
Members are entitled to take four books, two videos, two magazines and audio cassettes for a loan period of two weeks. A fine system is operated through our automated system for all overdue items.
