Introduction

Our special feature on women in science, engineering and technology (SET) provides information on the policies, initiatives and actions in the UK that open the doors of SET to women and help them climb the ladder to success. Also included is a series of web profiles, with accompanying exhibition, that celebrates the achievements of some of the UK’s leading women scientists and engineers.

A second, visually striking poster exhibition produced by the Office of Science and Technology features six fascinating young women role-models talking about their lives as engineers and scientists.
